Sifu Ali Ol

Ali Ol began his martial arts career in 1978. At the age of 9, his father sent him to a football-club. He played football for five years and then changed over to judo. Encouraged by his friends, he practised until he obtained the green belt. Two years later he coincidentally passed a placard on which a chinese Kung-Fu master was printed. His curiosity made him restless, so he soon went to the place where this Kung-Fu master practised. After 4 years of intensive training, he passed his exam for the black belt and an exam to become a trainer with a lot of success in 1984.

Ali Ol got to know Lim Chin Kim in Singapore in 1990. Master Lim is the founder of the NIA KWANG PUGILISTIC ASSOCIATION SINGAPORE (www.niakwang.com) and former student of the deceased Master Mai Zhi. At his numerous stays in Asia, Ali Ol had the chance to learn quite a lot of unique techniques and forms from master Lim, that he passes on to his students today. Ali Ol is especially proud of the fact that he had the opportunity to learn 1996 some forms and techniques from Chow Gar master Zhou Jin Bo from China, who is unfortunately deceased. In the sense of the great Kung-Fu tradition, all his masters are his good examples regarding their knowledge and skills.

Today Sifu Ol deals very intensively with the theoretical and historical side of the Kung-Fu besides the traditional education. Together with his pupil Björn Henke he founded the Kung-Fu WebMag Magazine (www.kungfuwebmag.de) in 2003. This project is the first online magazine in Germany which one deals exclusively with the Chinese fighting arts and is a platform for all Kung-Fu athletes. For this magazine Sifu Ol has written more than 40 reports and articles till now. Since 1990 he travels to China/Hong Kong/Singapore around to deepen his knowledge about the Chow Gar Kung-Fu and the Chinese fighting arts. In 2006 Sifu Ol founded with Sifu Andrea Garski (Hung Gar) and Sifu Michael Punschke (Choy Lay Fut) the German Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Association (www.vfck.de). In October 2006 he organized the first Championsships for this Association in Siegen City. In the year 2009 he published his first book about the Chow Gar Kuen Kung-Fu System in German language.
